Wow the past few days have been busy

To start off it is Monday night and Collin just had his first official Little League Baseball game. Boy was it fun. Collin was 2 out of 3 with one run. His first hit almost made it to the fence. He also made an amazing play at second base. He stopped a ground ball and threw it to first base to get the batter out. This sounds like an easy play, but for first graders that was a BIG DEAL. Here is Collin just before his big play.



Another great thing happened today. We got our counter tops installed. And our sink installed, just not hooked up. I hope we will have that in the next day or so. All we have left is getting those few things hooked up, the back splash, microwave installed, trim work and floors.



On Sunday night we went to the Jonas Brothers. I will have those pictures up soon!

On Saturday we had Kayla's first Volleyball game for the season. Unfortunately, I was not sitting in too great of a spot for pictures. I will do better next time. Her team didn't win, but she played great. She was one of the only players to volley the ball back over the net a few times and make most all of her serves. Her team name is the "her"-icanes...



Also on Saturday we had opening day for Little League Baseball and the school carnival. So Tim and I had to split up and go two ways. Here is a picture of Kayla on the rock wall. She made it all the way to the top she is in the purple shirt.



Tim and Collin had the parade. Collin road on a boat with his team and threw out beads.



Then they had all of the teams show back up to the sportsplex for introductions. We are in the Rookie League and our team name is the Hooks. Notice Collin is about a head length taller than most of the players. All the same age.

Sunday, February 15th

It is Sunday evening and just about time to wrap up the evening and go to bed to get ready for another work week. BLAHHHH, not exciting.

Our cabinets have come in. They are very pretty. We hope they will be installed this week. We are doing a little better in the kitchen now. We have the refrigerator in the kitchen and we now have the stove hooked up. That has been nice.

I had hoped it would be nice weather this weekend to work some in our back yard. It really took a beating during the hurricane and we have focused so much on the inside that we have not done anything outside. Tim was sick this weekend, so we probably would not have gotten much done anyway.

I miss camping, we haven't been in awhile. So on that note here are a few pics from old trips...

This is Collin, Cousin Alyssa, Cousin Isabella, and Kayla.

This is also in 2005 in Galveston. We are going to miss Galveston. They are saying the park will not be open for about two years. We love going there every year.

Family

As I was growing up my Grandmother always told me "Family is the most important thing you have." Well as I have grown older I have also figured out that time is also very valuable. I always want more time, so I can spend it with my family. I have also figured out as I have grown older and wiser that I have a great family. I treasure my mother. She is the perfect example of a mother. She is given her entire life to our family and always puts family first. With my dad comes this huge family. A family that I have never seen anything like. They will do most anything for one another. When my husband came into my family he was a little overwhelmed, but he has grown to love this big group. He even says he has never seen anything like it. Sometimes things happen in life that make us realize how lucky we are to have what we have. I feel very lucky to have such a great family!

Best In Show

Collin and Tim got best in Show at the Pinewood Derby. The pack meeting started with awards and Collin got his Bobcat Patch. Then they went on to the Pinewood Derby. Our car was #605 and it raced 7 times. It won 1st a couple of times and then 2nd for the rest. It was a fun time.

Now we are getting walls. Thanks Roy, Nathan and Johnathan for all of your help! Yes, Roy does have on boots, only because he came unexpected from work.

New Years Camping

I have been a little behind on the posts, due to us working on the house. We went camping in Lake Livingston. Tim's Sister Kelly and her family joined us and of course we had the rest of the OJT camping group. We have all become such good friends and our children really enjoy playing together. We are already starting to plan our trips for this year and it is looking like we are going to have another great camping year.

Happy New Year

Let me start by saying Happy New year to everyone. We hope that everyone had a wonderful new year. We went camping over the new year and had a great time. I am behind on my posts, but here is an update to where we currently are. We now have a new roof, one item complete. The insurance company was only willing to pay for a patch, but after thinking about it for awhile and talking it through we decided to put on a new roof. Last week we did a complete demolition of our kitchen. Behind the walls was not as bad as it could have been. We had worried about what it might look like. The cabinets were mildewed, but that is no big deal because we are getting new ones. This weekend sheetrock was put up on our ceiling and all of the insulation was put in. We even did the blown in insulation in the attic. Next up is finishing sheet rocking the walls. We hope that those will be done by the end of this week. Right now we have moved our refrigerator into our living room and are going out to eat every night. Things are going along pretty smoothly so far.
