Pasadena Cook Off

This Pasadena Cook Off will be one that we will never forget. We had a great night, meet some new people, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Roy's team the Texas Coastal Cookers made their first appearance this year at the Pasadena cookoff. They won 2nd place for Margarita's. Next time we are hoping for 1st place Ribs (my brother's specialty).

Anniversary of Hurricane Ike

We had a cul-de-sac party to remember how we came together and helped one another during the hurricane last year. Our neighbors helped us through so much as our kitchen ceiling was falling in. We will be forever grateful to them for all of their support. We all ate every meal together in our back yard and we had extension cords running from our generator to the neighbors houses. Let's hope and pray it is another 15 to 20 or even 30 more years until we have another hurricane like this one.

Happy 10th Birthday to Kayla

Wow, I can not believe 10 years has come and gone. I can not believe that ten years ago I had no children. I can not even remember what my life was like without them. Someone told me once that having children is like having your hear walk around outside your body. Kayla is truely a princess. Happy 10th Birthday to our princess. Last year Kayla's party was canceled due to the hurricane so we wanted to make this year extra special. Thank you mother nature for holding off the rain long enough for us to have a great party.

Lake Texana (Memorial Day)

I think this was our fourth year to go to Lake Texana for Memorial Day. We were back under the shade trees again this year, which made all the difference. We did the annual trip of going down to the cemetery and scaring everyone along the way. This year it was the older girls that were in for the scare. They had a ball. I got sick, so was only out on Friday night and then on Sunday. SPECIAL thanks to Dennis and Brian for all of the cooking. They are FABULOUS cooks and we are so thankful for that! Thanks also to Dennis for the food organization and reserving the spots.
